OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. These displays generate their own light, so do not require additional components to be enlightened.

Main features:
- reduced thickness;
- flexible structure;
- low power consumption;
- color brilliance;
- good contrast;

An OLED display is composed of several layers:
- a layer transparent of protective functions;
- a transparent conductive layer that acts as an anode;
- 3 organic layers;

The total thickness, without considering the transparent layer, is very low: about 300 nanometers.
